Esercita attività professionale e di ricerca nel campo del restauro architettonico. È autore o curatore di numerose pubblicazioni scientifiche sulla teoria e storia del restauro, la metodologia di progetto e le architetture fortificate.

Nella città di Udine sono presenti ampie zone e grandi volumi urbani abbandonati, magari da lungo tempo. È una situazione che vivono quasi tutte le città italiane di media e piccola dimensione. La riduzione del numero di abitanti, delle attività commerciali e dei servizi, legata spesso a una riduzione dei valori immobiliari, è una tendenza opposta a quella dei grandi centri ma è difficile da gestire quanto la ben più studiata “gentrificazione”. La passeggiata propone di visitare alcuni dei luoghi del centro città, di proprietà pubblica e privata, che sono attualmente inutilizzati, ma che potrebbero costituire elementi strategici nell'indispensabile processo di rigenerazione urbana.

PAOLO BON Architetto con studio a Udine dal 1997. Ha realizzato opere pubbliche e private in vari comuni della regione Fvg. Ha progettato e diretto gli interventi complementari delle Ciclovie Regionali Fvg 1 e Fvg 3 e diversi campi sportivi. Ha avuto esperienze di docenza presso le Università di Trento e di Udine. È presidente dell’Ordine degli architetti della provincia di Udine. Fa parte del direttivo di vicino/lontano.
