Wael Al-Dahdouh
Giornalista. Nato a Gaza City, ha lavorato come corrispondente da Gaza per il quotidiano Al-Quds, per la radio Voice of Palestine, per Al Arabiya e, dal 2004, per Al Jazeera, come responsabile dell’ufficio di corrispondenza dell’emittente nella Striscia. Nel corso dell’ultima guerra, lo scorso gennaio, un drone ha ucciso a Khan Younis il suo figlio maggiore, il 29enne Hamza Al-Dahdouh, anche lui giornalista per Al Jazeera. Sotto i bombardamenti dell’esercito israeliano dello scorso ottobre sul campo profughi di Nuseirat, sono morti la moglie Amna, due figli, Mahmoud e Sham, e suo nipote Adam, oltre ad altri familiari. Non ha mai smesso di svolgere il suo lavoro. Ferito lui stesso, ha potuto lasciare la Striscia per essere curato. Il National Press Club gli ha assegnato il Press Freedom Award 2024.
