Meridian Sax Quartet

Il Meridian Sax Quartet è composto da quattro giovani studenti che fanno parte del Conservatorio “J. Tomadini” di Udine e si è costituito nel 2010 durante una Master Class tenuta a Velletri dal m° Fabrizio Paoletti, di cui tutti e quattro sono allievi.
Si sono conosciuti all’interno dell’Orchestra di Fiati Giovanile Regionale ANBIMA FVG, grazie alla quale hanno tenuto un concerto con Antonella Ruggiero, e hanno potuto lavorare con direttori e compositori di calibro nazionale ed internazionale quali Marco Somadossi, Andrè Waignein (NL), Jo Conjaerts (NL), Marco Tamanini, Stefano Gatta, Miro Saje (SLO), Jacob De Haan (NL) e Stephen Melillo (USA). Con questa formazione hanno inoltre partecipato ad incisioni discografiche per la casa editrice “Scomegna” e per la rivista musicale “Amadeus”.
Hanno fatto parte dell’orchestra della rassegna “Canzoni di confine”, diretta dal m° Walter Sivilotti, con la quale hanno tenuto dei concerti con il cantautore Simone Cristicchi. Recentemente inoltre, hanno collaborato con il Corpo bandistico di Albiano accompagnando in concerto la cantante italiana Tosca e il m° Ruggiero Mascellino.
Hanno partecipato a Master Class tenute dal Quartetto di Riga, dai maestri Alex Sebastianutto, Marco Gerboni, Alfonso Padilla (E), Victor Martin (E) e Claude Delangle (F), personalità di spicco del panorama sassofonistico internazionale.
Il repertorio proposto spazia dal classico al jazz, passando per il minimalismo ed il latino-americano.
